Lab activity on Inequalities of Triangles

The students of classes IX A , B , C performed a lab activity on inequalities of triangles where they verified that any given figure is a triangle only if  “ the sum of two sides of the triangle is  greater than the third side “ and “ the difference of two sides of triangle is smaller than the third side”. This activity helped them in better understanding of the concept of proving a figure to be a triangle.

Learning Objective :- 1. To establish a relation between the largest side and the sum of other two sides of a triangle.
2. Prove or disprove a figure to be a triangle.
3. Enhancing their thinking and analytical skills.

Peer Learning in Science

To develop scientific enquiry and aptitude is the main objective of learning science. There has been a dynamic shift in the classroom strategy as teaching- learning has become more student- centered. Students of class IX presented a perfect example by organising peer- learning sessions to understand Newton’s Laws of Motion and their applications in real life. The students divided themselves in groups and each group demonstrated situations using Role-play, Power Point Presentations, Videos, Class- Demos to learn the topic together. The students took examples from day to day observations as the importance of wearing a safety belt while driving, how beating rugs and carpets with sticks removes dust etc.
